Do you remember the old-fashioned meat markets of Pulaski? 🥩

Long before today’s grocery stores, local meat markets were an important part of everyday life in our community. They were places where families purchased fresh cuts of meat, homemade sausage and other staples—and where generations of stories were created.

The Pulaski Area Historical Society is getting ready to explore that history with a new Old Fashioned Meat Markets in the Pulaski Area exhibit, and we need your help!

We are looking for volunteers to join our Meat Market Committee, beginning in January 2027. Committee members will help research local meat markets, uncover photographs and stories, gather memorabilia and help create a special exhibit. We are also hoping to plan a community event that could include an old-fashioned sausage-making demonstration!

The Pulaski Area Historical Society recently hosted its first Museum Accessioning Workshop, bringing volunteers together to learn how artifacts are accepted, researched, and preserved. Discover how you can become part of preserving Pulaski's rich history, meet fellow history enthusiasts, and join us for upcoming hands-on workshops at the Pulaski Area Museum.

Discover your family history at a Polish Genealogy Class hosted by the Pulaski Area Historical Society on October 3. Led by Steven Karcz, this hands-on session will guide participants through records, research tools, and the history behind Polish ancestry. Advance registration required.

Volunteers needed to help clean the museum for our first summer event. If you can lend a helping hand please join us on Wednesday, June 10th from 3:00 pm to 6 pm. Dusting, Vacuuming, Washing Floors, Cleaning Windows & Display Cases and more.

The Polish Heritage Society of NEW hosts bus trip to Polish Fest on Sunday, June 14, 2026. $50 per person, which includes round-trip transportation and admission to Polish Fest.

Celebrate EMT Month with the Pulaski Area Historical Society as we honor the legacy of the Tri-County Rescue Squad. Join us Saturday, May 16 for a special panel of past volunteers sharing powerful stories, first calls, and the history of emergency services in Pulaski. Open to the public with refreshments and the Dr. Shippy Exhibit available.

We can’t do it alone. We are looking for volunteers to help us at the museum. If you are interested in any of these workshops, we would love to have you join us. The first workshop will be on Accessioning and Researching Artifacts at the Museum.

Join us for the Pulaski Area Historical Society Annual Banquet and Dinner Meeting on Wednesday, October 22, 2025. The evening begins with the museum open to the public from 3–5 p.m., followed by a social at 5 p.m., a traditional Polish dinner at 6 p.m., and our annual meeting. Highlights include board elections, the presentation of the preservation award, updates from the curator and president, plus a special program on Poland as members share their recent travel experiences. Tickets are just $20 and available at local banks or by calling Norine Heuser at 920-655-3754 by October 17.

The Pulaski Area Historical Society is seeking 1 or 2 additional coin experts for our Coins & Coffee at the Pulaski Museum on Saturday, February 15th from 9:30 am - 11:30 am. The public is welcome to attend, and can bring in 10-15 of your favorite old coins and find out the value or uniqueness of these coins from our coin enthusiasts.

Bring your kids and grandkids to the Pulaski Museum for a special event on Saturday, December 14th, from 11:00 am to 1:00 p.m. with a special Christmas story read at NOON. Cookies and refreshments provided by the Pulaski Area Historical Society. A free, fun-filled event for all that attend. Our old fashioned Christmas display with old toys will be a site to see.

A fun and interactive event that will be held at the Pulaski Museum on Saturday, September 28th from 9:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. Visit the most recent exhibit featuring the Pulaski School District.
