Discover Your Roots: Polish Genealogy Class Offered in Pulaski

Pulaski, WI — The Pulaski Area Historical Society invites community members and history enthusiasts to explore their heritage at an upcoming Polish Genealogy Class on Saturday, October 3, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM.

Led by Research Curator Steven Karcz, this in-depth session is designed for anyone interested in discovering their Polish ancestry—whether just beginning or looking to deepen their research.

Participants will learn how to:

  • Start and organize their family history journey

  • Conduct family interviews and gather meaningful records

  • Navigate census, birth, marriage, death, and immigration records

  • Utilize resources such as FamilySearch and Find A Grave

  • Understand Polish history, migration patterns, and the Polish diaspora

  • Interpret records from Poland, including those in Latin, German, and Russian

  • Overcome common genealogy research challenges

The class will also explore valuable local and regional resources, including archives and historical societies in Pulaski and surrounding communities, along with guidance on tools, software, and both free and paid research platforms.

As an added bonus, each participant will receive a thumb drive filled with helpful materials, including spreadsheets, maps, blank forms, and scanned documents to support their ongoing research.
