Preserving Our History Together: Pulaski Area Museum Hosts First Accessioning Workshop
The Pulaski Area Historical Society is excited to announce the success of our first Pulaski Area Museum Accessioning Workshop! This workshop marks an important step in preserving the stories, artifacts, and history that make the Pulaski area so special.
A sincere thank you goes to Shirley Styczynski, Rosemary Gajewski, Steven Karcz, and Tammy Brzeczkowski for volunteering their time and enthusiasm to help launch this initiative. Their willingness to learn and contribute is helping build a stronger foundation for our museum's future.
What is Accessioning?
Accessioning is the process of accepting, documenting, researching, and preserving artifacts that become part of the museum's permanent collection. Every photograph, document, heirloom, and historical object has a story to tell, and proper accessioning ensures those stories are preserved for future generations.
Our workshops are designed to be educational, hands-on, and enjoyable. Participants learn the museum's process while helping organize and document our collection. Along the way, there's plenty of conversation, shared memories, and fascinating stories about Pulaski's rich history.
We're Looking for More Volunteers!
Do you enjoy:
Researching local history?
Organizing and cataloging information?
Learning something new?
Meeting others who share an interest in preserving our community's heritage?
If so, we'd love to have you join us! No prior museum experience is necessary—just a willingness to learn and an appreciation for local history.
Our ultimate goal is to engage both members and the community in understanding how museums preserve history while making meaningful progress in organizing our collection.
